Brief Biography
Dr. Gurupiah Mursib is an Associate Professor in Department of Architecture in the Faculty of Built Environment, UTM. Dr. “Rubi” obtained her Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Miami. She received her Master in Architecture and PhD in Architecture (2008) from UTM. Her research activities on environmental science and sustainable issues include daylighting, ventilation and thermal comfort. Dr. Rubi’s true passion is in the study of traditional and modern Malaysian architectural heritage. She has participated in various architectural and conservation projects. Her contributions to Malaysian Architectural Heritage Studies led to the founding of the Center for the Study of the Built Environment in the Malay World (KALAM), now home to the largest collection of Malay architectural heritage documentation.
