Visiting Scholars Arrive at MIT

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) welcomes the Malaysia Sustainable Cities Program (MSCP) Scholars, who recently arrived to Cambridge after having spent half the academic year conducting research related to sustainable city development at the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in Johor Baharu, Malaysia. During their spring semester at MIT, the Visiting Scholars will finalize and publish their academic papers in a new eJournal and will also produce video teaching materials that will be disseminated worldwide over MIT’s video channel.

The 2014-2015 MSCP Scholars cohort includes Akmal Abdelfatah (transportation), Akindele Oluremi Akinropo (“sustainable” mall development), Tu Fan  (industrial land use planning), Haslenda Hashim (low carbon development), Shraddha Pandey (green architecture), Hong Ching Goh (coastal natural resource management), Malik Asghar Naeem, (urban sprawl), Norbert Francois Tchouaffe Tchiadje (water management), and Zainura Noor (solid waste management).
